Communication and Collaboration
Some advantages to having a blog are that we can be helped better understand the material that is being learned in class by our classmates. We would all be connected through one site and so instead of having to email our teacher or text a classmate, we can just post on the blog and get an answer for someone who does understand. I personally don't see any disadvantages to having a blog because it is only there to help us.
ReplyDeleteThere are many advantages to having a class blog. Anyone can simply post a question and receive an answer with no problem. It is more efficent then sending an email that may not be received or possibly deleted by mistake. However, if your blog post gets more then one different answer then it could be confusing. A good side of this is that both the students and the teacher could communicate using the blog, and we could share ideas and get valuable information based off of one another's posts. Overall I think there are more positives to having a class blog. But there are some negatives like misinturpretataion of a post or multiple answers to a question.
ReplyDeleteUsing a class blog has many advantages that benefit students. By using a blog, students can ask questions that they may be afraid to ask in class or that they did not have time to ask in class (by the period ending) . Also, asking questions and receiving them on a blog is very efficient compared to individual e-mails. E-mails can be accidentally deleted or passed over as spam. Some disadvantages of a blog are that a question that a student asks could have multiple different responses. In my opinion, blogs are more helpful to students than e-mails and they are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI believe that having a blog is a great idea. Some people can't text their friends or email, so having access to a blog is just a good idea. Like how everyone was saying in class, ten different people are going to ask the same question. If its posted on the blog, it can take two minutes to find out the answer rather than wait for a friend to answer a text or wait for you to reply to an email. They are overall the best option to get the whole class to communicate.
ReplyDeletehaving a blog is the easiest option for communication amongst a class. It is the easiest way because anyone in the class/group with a question or concern about anything in the class can just ask questions in the blog and their classmates will answer. It can also be used for people who are absent. They could easily find out what they missed in class the previous day just by going to the blog and asking a simple question.
ReplyDeleteSome of the major advantages of using a blog are that a blog allows instant communication with other students and teachers. Communication is very important in education and blogging allows us to do so. Another reason, is that if one person has the same question as another, it can be posted on the blog and now everyone knows the answer to that question. Preventing the same questions to be emailed to the teachers. While there are advantages, there are also disadvantages. One reason is that one question could get five different answers. Then, causing you to be confused on which one is the right answer. Another disadvantage is if you are debating with someone, they may misunderstand your tone. That would not happen if you are speaking face to face with someone. Overall, a blog is a great way to communicate and interact outside the classroom.
ReplyDeleteHaving a blog is a great way to communicate. There's more people to answer your questions so you can get a variety of answers. As we talked about in class, one person can ask a question that many others also need answered. Instead of a million people asking the same question to the teacher, as soon as it's posted once, everyone will have their answer. There are disadvantages of a blog. One is, the feedback you receive may be incorrect. Another disadvantage is that blogging isn't a personal conversation. Everyone sees what you send. Lastly, blogging can be more time consuming. If two people come up with two different responses, then you may have to figure out which one is right instead of receiving a direct answer from the teacher.
ReplyDeleteA blog has many pros and cons. In a class environment, it is helpful for students who have questions. They are able to post their question and have other students answer without asking the teacher. This is also useful because not everyone has each others phone numbers to text/call them for the information. One problem could be if students have different answers to a question, but between all of us we can get the right one. In general, I feel a blog helps us students learn more and work together.
ReplyDeleteBlogs are very helpful to a class. They first make it easier for students to communicate with the entire class rather than emailing a few friends or a teacher. Also it eliminates the possibility of many students asking a teacher the same question, as we discussed in class. Also it helps a student catch up on previously missed work. One disadvantage is that many students may have different answers to the same question. Overall a blog is a great way for a class to communicate and help each other.
ReplyDeleteWe use a blog because it has many advantages over "traditional" methods of communication such as email, text, or phone: it allows us to have a single space to communicate with one another, so that if we have a question, information doesn't get reported inaccurately as it travels down the grapevine. Also, with a blog, Mr. Crane doesn't have one hundred and fifty kids asking him the same exact question. Both scenarios are incredibly inefficient, and we therefore use a blog to ask questions about class. The only drawback is that multiple people in our class can post answers to our questions, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if answers conflict a student could become confused and need even further clarification. Yet this issue can be remedied with intervention by you, Mr. Crane. All in all, it's plain that the pros of blogging as a form of communication outweigh the cons.
ReplyDeleteIncorporating a blog into normal classroom procedures will positively impact students and teachers' school life. It allows every pupil to interact with one another in one place rather then using cell phones or email. These can easily be deleted, lost, or can result in inaccurate answers. This avoids confusion when multiple students have the same question, for a blog provides an efficient way to receive answers, as well as promote intelligent discussions. There are also a couple of disadvantages to this new technology. For example, more than one student could have an answer to a particular question and it would be hard for an exact conclusion to be reached or a misinterpretation of a post. Overall, a blog is a great way to keep students involved and have a simple form of communication.
ReplyDeleteHaving a class blog can benefit our students greatly. It gives students the opportunity to ask questions and discuss class topics openly. Everyone is able to participate in the discussion and add their input to to the topic. Also, students can feel comfortable asking anything that they may not have been able to ask in class. The blog can connect the classroom and students in ways never before possible. The class blog does not have many disadvantages, as long as it is used properly. Having a class blog is a major advantage to the students.
ReplyDeleteWith a blog, it is much easier to provide and exchange information and knowledge as a whole class rather than directly communicating with a teacher or classmate. Texting, calling, instant messaging and emailing are all great ways of communication but a blog provides an atmosphere where students can collaborate with one another. Students can utilize their different ranges of knowledge and opinions and share them with others to help. However, because there is such a wide variety of what someone may think the answer to a question is, it is very possible for there to be a conflict of solutions. The asker may get a variety of different answers to a question (whether it be about physics or simply whether or not they had homework that night) and the answer they end up deciding is correct could very well be wrong
ReplyDeleteWith a blog among our class, it's the beginning of a new way of communication. About 20 years ago they didn't have this (or if they did not this advanced now). It's very easy to provide, exchange, and use the information that we or our classmates give to each other. This is basically a win-win situation here. For example; A friend is absent and he posts on the blog on what he missed. A classmate replies with the information needed. The new blog communication is truly a helpful tool. -Henry.O
