You should be able to do the following at the end of the unit:

Unit: Measurement and Numbers students will be able to

1. Identify the need for constants, the 7 fundamental quantities and the MKS system
2. use the SI system in taking and recording measurements in terms of significant figures, precision and accuracy
3. rewrite numbers in scientific notation and back to long form. Perform calculations in scientific notation without and without calculator
4. Identify the proper number of significant figures
5. Perform calculations with proper rounding based on significant figures
6. Use dimensional analysis to calculate required quantities
